No Deep Frying Please !!!

Dear Folks,

Normally I do not comment or write on issues specifically related to people or families without their prior permission.
However, on the issue of “Deep frying and serious cooking inside SP Clubhouse pantry and in front of Block 5 entrance:”

I wish to come out strongly against allowing such a practice in future!!

For more than 2 years I have been seeing cooking being done outside Block 5 entrance, the pathway dirtied with patches of oil and black soot, inhaled  the strong and acrid smell of burnt oil and onions as I pass by, the pantry area left in shambles, garbage strewn all over  and the clubhouse left in a post war condition.

However, I must say things have improved somewhat, but a lot is left to be desired.  Even now, serious cooking and deep frying happens, oil spills all over, and many times the event organisers leave the pantry and clubhouse without cleaning them properly!

And I must acknowledge and appreciate the maturity and patience of all the residents in Block 5 for putting up with this mess. They politely bear this nuisance each time, raise their voices each time in whatsapp group and then calm down.  Only to restart when the next incident occurs.
WHY ??
If I was in Block 5 I would not just take a picture of a frying poori, post it in our group and be content with it!
I would first ask the cook to stop his work, pack up and go.
And I would request the organisers to be considerate.
And I might even lend my big car & driver to them to buy an alternative dish which is as tasty and maybe more nutritious.

And if this approach does not work, I might just pick up a big  fight , create a nuisance and ruin their party!!

So, my stance is clear.
Ban deep frying and serious cooking inside Clubhouse pantry and outside as well!!
No other option and no alternative compomise formula either !!

I am tired of reading hundreds of whatsapp messages. Meaningless conversation leading no where (with my apologies to all for this harsh comment). We have been going on for more than 2 years now.  And our MC  has been soft-pedalling on this issue for so long. Some of them offer polite suggestions – some for and some against. And then they wait for the emotions and the interest levels to die down.

Like the wise one once said,
When all is said and done,
More will be said than done!!

And when the next incident happens, we repeat this same process.

And after another 6 years and 3 more new MC teams down the road, we will still be posting pictures and discussing on this subject.

A strong and unambiguous stance in necessary. Great Countys and robust communities are run on strict and strongly implemented rules and clear boundaries.  Rules and decisions are not meant to please everyone

SO,
Ban Frying.
No more discussion.
And no GAIL gas in pantry!

And if we do not implement this and other similar difficult (non-palatable) measures now,  then  let’s not have a delusion that we are living in a super luxury apartment!.

We can happily let cooks fry pooris and pakoras openly!!
We can let our campus look and smell like parathey wali gali in Chandni Chowk.
We can happily allow our children to ride cycle & wave board dangerously all around and bang into senior citizens.
We can allow all the courier and delivery boys to litter our foyer and pathways and abandon empty cartons everywhere.
And of course, we can allow all our dogs to pee and poo all over our lawn and bushes!

And Personally?  I have no problem with that.

I will reset my mental bearings.
And it will be easy for me to accept the fact that I am no longer living in a Super luxury apartment complex.
But in one of those government housing colonies in Delhi’s RK Puram, or Sarojini Nagar.
Or in one of those Maharashtra housing board complexes in Andheri East or Antop Hill !!

And my only regret, I have paid a bomb!!

Krish..
