Halloween @ Sobha Palladian Oct 2019

I write this picture blog specially for all the children in Sobha Palladian. What an enthusiastic show they put up ! Pl share this write up with your kids.
And we had 100% participation for the Halloween@Sobha Palladian Oct 2019.
And they turned out in their horrible best.
And many were  dressed to kill, literally!
And a big thank you to all those sporting moms and dads for their painstaking efforts in making their children look as bad and ugly and gruesome and terrible as possible!!

So lets give these children & their parents a loud shout out and KUDOS!
Your are the the best. Horribly the best.
And you are all Absolutely & Awfully Awesome (AAA Rating). Each one of you !!!

Begin :
I approach a big glowing red-eyed and wide open mouthed carved pumpkin and ask, ‘So how is Halloween?’
And instead of a sob story that I was expecting, I got..
‘It’s the best thing that can ever happen to any pumpkin’,  he (or she) answered brightly.
And with surprise I ask, How come ??
And the big fat one with glittering eyes answered..
Dude, Look at  all the other options we have.
We could get all chopped into tiny bits, rubbed with salt over our wounds, smothered with red chill powder and spicy masala and then fried with oil in a sauce pan over a slow fire.
Or we can get chopped up, steamed in a  pressure cooker and then dumped into a pot of boiling sambar.
Or we could get chopped and steamed and mercilessly ground and boiled with spices and vinegar and coloring agents and turned into a blood- red thick gooey liquid which is sold off as cheap tomato sauce!!
Or we could get finely grated and baked in an oven for your favorite ‘Pumpkin Fairy Cake’!!

But in Halloween at least, we suffer only from knife wounds and there is no further torture.
And I agreed. No wonder all of you are so happy - shining eyes and a wide laughing mouth!!

Next I catch a roving vampire and inquire, ‘How are the treats coming?’
‘Don’t ask’, he says in an exasperated tone, ‘You Palladians are so dumb’!
None of you even had the courtesy to offer me even a single drop of blood!
Do you folks seriously believe we vampires survive on chocolates, cookies and cakes??
And I quickly took a step back before his anger got the worse of him.

Halloween this time was different.
Not many pumpkins were butchered this time. And hence the mess in the Clubhouse was lesser. Experienced Knives were wielded with expertise, the gooey  innards of each pumpkin  scooped out quickly, jagged teeth were cut and eyes gouged out .

And finally the poor pumpkins were lit up with a lamp inside and displayed ! and they stayed griming throughout the night.

The number or witches and Dracula and  pirates and other eerie denizens of the dark world were much more.

And this time the Chefs from Hotel Transylvania (of the animated movie fame) put up an elaborate buffet – a spectacular show of imaginations running wild !!

And we had freshly chopped fingers (no thumbs),
varieties of squishy gelatino eyeballs, blood worms sucking bone marrows
lower and upper dentures, chocolate coated baked coffins (with juicy bodies inside),
chopped liver jelly cubes with fresh blood-spread on top , and the pumpkin puke pasta!!!

And you can place bulk orders for any of these delicacies on ‘Awsome Anusha’s Kitchen’ website. This  baker also has special gift packs of her famous ‘running nose and smelly feet’  candies.
And if you ever, by chance, go to her shop and  make your payment, be sure to check your change and count your own fingers. She makes no guarantee for any of your missing fingers
And for even more grotesque varieties you can approach ‘Vinaya&Preeti’s Parlor’ @ Block 1  Floor # 6.
Caution & Waring : Most often the shoppers do not return back!
And there were some some vile tasting juices as well.

Pix: The real baker & Anusha

I guess this time some of the witches must have raided a Garnier godown. For many of them had wonderfully streaked hairs – florescent green, bright pink and green and flaming orange and red and some kids even had gold, silver and platinum shades!!

 Absolutely stunning !
And last year’s witch from the top floor returned and the huge pirate too! And spiders crawled into homes.

And quite a few new scary people joined the band.
We had a Simba, the huge majestic lion and Sher Khan the fearsome Bengal tiger with a curved trail.
And Simba also gave a subtitle to his thundering ROAR for the  benefit of all those hearig impaired folks in SP. What a thoughtful gesture. A true Lion King!!

Two young naughty devils with curved horns, one with platinum hairs and the other with bright red orange and black.

Lots of black robed witches and animated skeletons, captain James Hook.

And they all went happily stabbing at each other, clawing and making horrendous noises.

And the big witches and monsters were no less quite.
They were equally busy slicing each others throat, stabbing with kitchen knives, hammering people’s head and tearing at each other with inch long curved nails

And then much to everybody’s delight and astonishment, a huge glorious looking PUMPKIN rolled in.
And the most charming pumpkin I had ever seen! And the whole hall converged upon her.

And then the kids ganged up for the Trick or Treat sorties thru the various blocks!
And thankfully none of the top floors in SP were haunted this time.

However I got a huge shock this time.
The  scary creatures did not scare me out of my pants.
Nor did the witches push a 1000 volts probe into my guts.

I had been merrily clicking pictures from my camera for 20 minutes. And then to my utter horror I found out that I had no memory card in the camera!!

And you can well imagine what I got.
Some 1000 volts shock topped up with a million volt embarrassment!!!
